An unusual fundraising event brought community together and collected money for CAUSE

On behalf of the BCU Foundation, we would like to express our gratitude to Borys Brodziuk for organizing a successful Whiskey Tasting Fundraising in support of the CAUSE – Canadian Assistance to Ukraine for Surgical Equipment.

On June 14, 2022, a group of 70 enthusiasts gathered at St. James Gate for a three-course meal and a whiskey tasting led by Tom Vanek from Vanek Whiskey Events.
“Everyone showed up for the event,” said Borys. “The atmosphere was amazing. Everyone was really engaged during the whole tutored whiskey tasting.”

Guests purchased a ticket that included a three-course meal and a tutored tasting led by Tom Vanek from Vanek Whiskey Events.

The evening collected $5,528 and the proceeds were directed proceeds to CAUSE.

BCU Foundation is delighted to see such creative initiatives to support Ukraine at this horrific time and thankful to Borys and his team for hosting the event. This is not the last event, Borys is already planning to organize another one soon.

CAUSE, aka Canadian Assistance to Ukraine for Surgical Equipment Fund, was created by orthopedic surgeons Markian Pahuta, Paul Moroz, and Brad Petrisor to help Ukrainian doctors with supplies and equipment to save lives.
