BCU Foundation Supports The Showing Of The Film “20 Days In Mariupol” In Toronto

BCU Foundation, together with BCU Financial, was the proud sponsor of the showing of the documentary “20 Days In Mariupol” by Pulitzer-winning Ukrainian journalist Mstyslav Chernov in Toronto. The event was attended by the representatives of the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada – Ambassador Yulia Kovaliv and the new Consul General of Ukraine in Toronto Oleh Nikolenko, as well as Will Bouma, Member of Provincial Parliament and Parliamentary Assistant to several Ministers in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario.

The film tells the story of an Associated Press team of Ukrainian journalists trapped in the besieged city of Mariupol and their struggle to continue their work documenting atrocities of the Russian invasion. As the only international reporters who remain in the city, they capture what later become defining images of the war.

We would like to thank all the partners of the showing, as well as all the officials and members of the community who attended this important event. This cinematic work is a strong and necessary reminder to the world that the war against Ukraine has been going on for 810 days and still continues. Our country keeps requiring support in order to stop Russia’s aggression and defend the whole democratic world.
