BCU Foundation’s 11th Annual Golf Tournament will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024!
This year, once again due to the ongoing full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces, BCU Foundation will be donating the proceeds of the
2024 BCU Foundation Golf Tournament towards Humanitarian Aid and Rehabilitation Programs for injured soldiers and civilians affected by the war in Ukraine.
Thank you to everyone for supporting this important initiative to help those fighting for their freedom and sovereignty.
Over the years, our annual golf tournaments were a great success thanks to your support. In the past ten years, we were able to raise over $140,000 in total. The proceeds of the tournaments supported the creation of a Hallmark of Excellence Fund at BCU Foundation, which promotes athletic excellence, sportsmanship, and fair play in a spirit of friendship. This fund supports not-for-profit organizations that use sports to strengthen Ukrainian identity in Canada and around the world. The fund also supports Ukrainian-Canadian athletes who excel in various sports and who compete in Canada and internationally. The fund will help support Ukrainian-Canadian athletes’ aspirations to pursue their dreams.
BCU Foundation proudly supports various causes, events, and athletes through the Hallmark of Excellence Fund. We thank you for your support of BCU Foundation and your financial contribution toward the Hallmark of Excellence Fund through our annual Golf Tournament fundraiser. Your continued support ensures that the BCU Foundation can provide a lasting legacy in our community.
In previous years, the BCU Foundation has extended its support to athletes and various charitable endeavours, including donations to the Humboldt Strong Community Foundation and the St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation via the Hallmark of Excellence Fund. However, in 2023, amidst the backdrop of the devastating invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces, the BCU Foundation made a significant decision. It allocated the entirety of the proceeds from the 2023 BCU Foundation Golf Tournament, totalling $21,000, towards Humanitarian Aid and Rehabilitation Programs aiding injured soldiers and affected civilians in Ukraine. This shift reflects our commitment to stand in solidarity with those fighting for their freedom and sovereignty. We earnestly urge your support for this vital cause.
